Abstract
BTS – Bologna Translation Service – is
an ICT PSP EU-funded project which
specializes in the automatic translation of
study programmes. At the core of the
BTS framework are several machine
translation (MT) engines through which
web-based translation services are offered. The fully integrated BTS architetture includes a translation engine coupling rule-based and statistical MT with
automatic post-editing (APE). In this paper, we first describe the motivating fac-
tors behind the provision of such a service. Following this, we give an overview of the BTS framework as a whole,
with particular emphasis on the MT components, and provide a real world use
case scenario in which BTS MT services
are exploited.
