Digital competencies for students in Applied Linguistics
CrossLang was invited to participate in a panel discussion at VUB (Brussels University) to talk about necessary digital competencies for future language professionals. We had the opportunity to share our views together with colleagues from the industry. Some key questions that were discussed with the students from VUB are: Which opportunities and challenges do the current trends offer within the professional field? How is the future of the professions of translator and interpreter perceived? Which specific digital competencies do graduating academic language professionals miss and which skills should be strengthened in the future?
