Project Description
The CEFAT4Cities project creates technology enabling EU citizens to use multilingual services in the area of smart cities. Two different pilots are set up:
- Belgium: a pilot aiming at simplifying the life of entrepreneurs. CrossLang assists BECI in order to facilitate access to practical information regarding setting up a company or the daily management issues of a business.
- Austria: a pilot the objective of which is to improve the City of Vienna’s FIWARE model and create new ways of visualisation.

Results
A pipeline was set up for extracting information from cities’ websites. It constitutes a prototype for the semantic modelling of public services in Croatian, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Norwegian. The pipeline was applied to build demonstrator chatbots for BECI and the Vienna Business Agency.
The pipeline can be extended to new domains and languages, thus supporting cities of various sizes to build their own semantic network of public services in a multilingual way.
