November 12, 2025: AI4C OCCAM Workshop

The AI4Culture partners were invited to give a workshop in the context of the Lithuanian eKultūra project, presenting the tools developed in the AI4Culture project during a hands-on workshop. CrossLang presented their tool OCCAM for automatic transcription, correction and translation of scanned images of printed or handwritten text.

October 15, 2025: Flanders AI Research Day

The Flanders AI Research Day gathered researchers, companies and organisations at the historic Wintercircus in Ghent for a full day of inspiration and innovation. Attendees explored the latest breakthroughs from the Flanders AI Research Program (FAIR), discovered real-world AI applications, and connected with over 600 AI professionals, creating new collaborations that help shape the future of AI across sectors.

September 12, 2025: CLIN 35

Computational Linguistics in The Netherlands (CLIN) is an annual conference on computational linguistics. Each year the conference is organized by a different institution in the Dutch-speaking region.

June 23-27, 2025: MT Summit

The MT Summit brings together researchers, developers, and language industry professionals to focus on machine translation. The conference took place over the span of five days, including two days dedicated to workshops and tutorials. The main conference featured four tracks: research/technical, research/translators and users, implementations and case studies, and products and projects.

April 10-16, 2025: GALA

The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA Global) is a trade association — a nonprofit organization founded and funded by businesses that operate in a specific industry. GALA serves and supports the global language services and technologies industry which comprises translation, interpreting, localization, and the technologies that support such activities.

March 10, 2025: AI4C Closing Ceremony

During the AI4Culture project that ran from April 2023 to February 2025, the consortium developed a platform which constitutes an online capacity building hub for the application of AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector.

February 12-20, 2025: AI4C Hackathon

The AI4Culture Hackathon saw professionals, institutions and passionate individuals from the fields of AI, digital humanities, and cultural heritage teaming up to transform how we preserve, enrich, and interact with our shared cultural heritage.

October 9, 2024: AI4C Workshop

This workshop was the first out of the series of workshops within the AI4Culture project and took place on 9 October 2024. Organised by CrossLang and the Austrian Institute of Technology, it focused on the use of OCR tools, specifically OCCAM and Transcribathon, to create and validate transcriptions of scanned documents. Participants learned how to upload transcriptions to a repository and display them on the AI4Culture platform.

August 8, 2024: CLIN 34

The 34th Meeting of Computational Linguistics in The Netherlands (CLIN 34), organized by the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics (LUCL), in collaboration with the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS), and the Leiden University Centre for Digital Humanities (LUCDH), took place on August 30, 2024 in the Lipsius building of Leiden University.
